Pssst … Hey guys, listen up. I gotta give you the dope about handing out those hearts before Blissed finds out. She says I’m mean.
Okay …. I AM mean. I AM “Pissed” after all.
Okay … here we go. We’ve got a pile of hearts here and fifteen minutes to squander as we hand them out to shops and listings.
Now you remember what I said in “Fast and easy Heart Donations” . Now you gotta make those hearts count. In other words you want to give them out to the people most likely to hand some of them back to you. You want “active” people who are wandering around Etsy “promoting” themselves and their shops. You want people who have a lot of “followers” because any hearts they give YOUR shop or listings will be announced in all their follower’s notices or “feeds”. ( Good choice of word here, Etsy … because if you are dumb enough to “follow” anyone, your ‘feed’ will be so full of their stuff that you WILL be “fed up”)
The best place to find these shops is in the Forums. Active people are in those forums. You want shops which have good sales and lots of followers. Don’t waste stars on newbies. And if you’re selling mostly in the USA, the forums are mostly populated by American shops Those Chinese resellers and factories don’t waste a moment in the forums. Heck for them, time is money.
But keep in mind one important thing …
You want hearts to translate into views. And views to translate to SALES.
So skim quickly over the shops, choose ones with sales and admirers ( which will probably have more followers) and stick to American shops since many European shops have already jumped into the ‘heart’ bandwagon and have ruined their credibility by giving out so many hearts and chasing their “followers” away.

One gal has listed 156.789 “favorites” at last count. You can bet her followers have “un-followed” her. And she’s not going get you much mileage. Stick to American.
Another source is Treasuries. But research here at EtsyTricksy has shown very little reciprocative hearts from the Treasury curators themselves. BUT you can harvest some shops from within the Treasuries since most of them are good sellers and nice products.
In a pinch you can just pull down a page in SEARCH and heart everything in sight. But that’s a little too facile even for me. And I’m VERY lazy. And devious.
You don’t need to heart hundreds at a time. Just toss out a few dozen, That will keep you in the running. You should get several views out of this and a couple of hearts too. Remember that a shop heart is an “admirer” and you’ll get the benefit of the donor’s “followers” views.
